Aronberg Goldgehn Secures $180,000+ Verdict in Two-Year Construction Litigation

Firm Member Nate Lichtenstein and Associate Emma Sander secured a verdict of more than $180,000 on behalf of a client in the medical industry, achieving a strong outcome in a complex construction dispute.

The dispute arose after a storm caused the roof of the client’s commercial office space to collapse, resulting in significant interior damage. Although a general contractor and its subcontractor were retained to complete the roof replacement and interior repairs, the work was not performed within the scope of the agreed-upon project requirements. The defective roof installation led to pooling water and continued leaks, and the interior repairs failed to meet the parties’ agreements, leaving the client with ongoing operational disruptions and additional financial harm.

The team filed suit to recover the damages necessary to properly repair the roof and remediate the interior damage. Throughout the litigation, the team focused on demonstrating both the deficiencies in the workmanship and the extent of the resulting harm. After a thorough presentation of the evidence, the court awarded the client more than $180,000 in damages.

"We’re proud to have secured a result that holds the responsible parties accountable and gives our client the resources needed to make the necessary repairs," Lichtenstein said. "It’s incredibly rewarding to help a business move forward after facing setbacks like this."
