Julie Neubauer and Staci Balbirer Appointed to Illinois State Bar Association Committee and Leadership Roles


Family Law Attorneys Julie A. Neubauer and Staci Balbirer have been appointed by President-elect Vincent F. Cornelius to serve the Illinois State Bar Association in committee and leadership roles for the 2016-17 bar year.

Julie was appointed to multiple roles, including Chair of the ISBA Standing Committee on Women and the Law. As part of her officer role she was re-appointed to the Diversity Leadership Council. In addition, Julie was appointed for the first time to the Family Law Section Council.

Staci was appointed as a new member of the Standing Committee on Women and the Law.

The ISBA Standing Committee on Women and the Law focuses on areas of law uniquely affecting women and provides a forum to discuss and implement women’s unmet legal needs and issues.

Julie has served as a member of the Standing Committee on Women & the Law since 2007. In her leadership roles, she will continue her legacy of working to advance equity, diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and will continue her commitment to promoting the highest level of professionalism in the practice of family law.

About Julie A. Neubauer

Julie dedicates her practice to issues of matrimonial and family law, including divorce, child custody, domestic violence/orders of protection, child support, post-judgment litigation, adoption, parentage and all other related matters.

She is engaged in all aspects of the practice, including preparing prenuptial agreements, drafting pleadings, handling pre-trial motions, engaging in settlement negotiations, conducting discovery analysis, and handling trials and appeals.

Julie is a regular contributor to the Illinois State Bar Association Standing Committee on Women and the Law newsletter, The Catalyst, as well as other publications.

About Staci Balbirer

Staci Balbirer concentrates her practice in the area of divorce and family law with a special focus on assisting families with special needs children.

Staci has lectured on and authored about family law matters, including most recently before the Northwest Suburban Bar Association on the topic of "How to Calculate Support for Adult Children with Special Needs." She also co-authored “The Difficulty in Understanding and Applying Section 5/513(a)(1) of the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act,” which was published in the Illinois State Bar Journal Family Law Newsletter.
