03.24.25
Aronberg Goldgehn Member and President of The Chicago Bar Association (CBA) John C. Sciaccotta has played a pivotal role in establishing the CBA’s Domestic Violence Committee. Formed in recognition of Women’s History Month, the committee is dedicated to elevating awareness, driving education and advocating for meaningful legal reform in addressing domestic violence and abuse.
“Throughout my career and personal life, I have been deeply committed to advocacy efforts that support survivors and increase awareness of domestic violence,” said Sciaccotta, who will serve as co-chair of the committee. “By bringing this initiative into the CBA, we aim to inspire legislative action, provide legal professionals with essential education and create lasting, positive change for those affected by abuse.”
The committee’s work will include advocating for legislative measures to strengthen legal protections, organizing Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs to provide legal professionals with critical knowledge and resources, and developing best practices to guide attorneys in handling domestic violence-related proceedings.
The inaugural meeting will take place on Thursday, March 27. Legal professionals are encouraged to join the committee and contribute to its mission.
