Jay L. Dolgin is a seasoned trusts and estate attorney with more than 50 years of legal experience. He advises clients on estate and tax planning, asset protection, probate, deceased estates, guardianships and trust administration. His practice also extends to corporate law, including business planning, transactions and succession planning. Additionally, Jay is a highly skilled mediator, adept at resolving complex family disputes related to tax and estate matters.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Jay earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1966 and his law degree from DePaul University College of Law in 1969. In 2012, he became a managing member of what is now Dolgin Law Group. He joined Aronberg Goldgehn in 2025.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

• Developing a strategy in which a decedent’s estate owned 50% of a closely held business with $37,000,000 in cash at the time of death and a total business value exceeding $70,000,000, ultimately assessing an estate tax valuation of $7,000,000 and reaching a final settlement with the IRS at $8,000,000.
