Alan S. Wernick Presenting "Privacy/Cybersecurity Issues in Virtual Mediation" at the Chicago Bar Association's Advanced Workshop for Improved Negotiation and Mediation Skills

09.24.20

Aronberg Goldgehn attorney Alan S. Wernick will present “Privacy/Cybersecurity Issues in Virtual Mediation” at the Chicago Bar Association’s Advanced Workshop for Improved Negotiation and Mediation Skills: Sophisticated Mediation Strategies for In-Person and Virtual Mediation.

The session will be presented online on Nov. 11, 2020.

Program Description

Virtual mediations provide many opportunities for parties, counsels, and mediator to work together to amicably resolve disputes in a cost-effective and safe manner. In this presentation, Alan will provide a brief overview of some: (1) privacy/cybersecurity risks that may occur in virtual mediations; and (2) preventive steps that may help mitigate those risks.

The entire CBA online workshop starts Nov. 11, 2020. It will include cutting-edge strategies for successful negotiation and advocacy and will provide insight on how to mediate difficult disputes. The presenters will discuss methods to resolve issues on their merits rather than through a haggling process. They will highlight strategies for participants to employ in order to be fair while negotiating, yet not be taken advantage of due to their fairness.

A certificate of completion will be issued by The Chicago Bar Association, which will qualify participants to act as an arbitrator in the Circuit Court of Cook County Commercial Section, Mandatory Arbitration Program. The program also satisfies the training requirement necessary to join the CBA Mediation Program.

Participants must complete the full on demand Webcast by Nov. 20, 2020, to earn a certificate of completion.
