John Sciaccotta Elected a Trustee of the Barrington School District 220 Educational Foundation Board

Aronberg Goldgehn Member John C. Sciaccotta has been elected a Trustee of the Barrington School District 220 Educational Foundation Board. As a Trustee, John will support the Foundation’s mission to inspire students' passion for learning and career exploration, and provide enriching opportunities through private funding.

The Barrington School District 220 Educational Foundation Board has donated more than $3 million to Barrington 220 School District due to the generosity of alumni, individuals and businesses.
Funds are awarded in following grant categories:

  • Project. A one-time award for an effort that enhances learning opportunities.

  • Projects for innovation and enhancement. Allows teachers and staff to introduce innovative programs that benefit students.

  • Helping hand grants. When other funding sources are limited, teachers and staff may apply for a helping hand to obtain funding for practical supplies for instructional projects.

  • Memorial. A grant that honors the memory of a family or community member.

John C. Sciaccotta focuses his practice on litigation, arbitration and business counseling matters with a special emphasis on complex civil trial and appellate cases brought in federal and state courts throughout the United States. John has also been appointed by the American Arbitration Association as an Arbitrator and Lawyer Neutral to adjudicate various claims and disputes in arbitration.

For many years John has provided results-oriented and value-driven legal counsel and advice to public and privately held businesses, lenders, employers and individuals. In these and other concerns, he has experience dealing with numerous industries and business activities.

John actively serves in leadership roles with bar associations and community organizations. In addition to the Foundation, and among others, he is Co-Founder and Vice Chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Business Divorce and Complex Ownership Disputes Committee; a member of the Chicago Bar Association’s Board of Managers; Founder and Past President of the Fenwick High School Bar Association; and Past President of the Illinois Fatherhood Initiative.

He recently joined the Board of Directors of the non-profit WINGS, which provides a pathway to independence for people whose lives have been disrupted by domestic violence.
