Women executives, lawyers and other professionals turned out to honor Sarah Alter, President and CEO of the Network of Executive Women (NEW), at the Third Annual Inspiration Award Luncheon hosted by the Aronberg Goldgehn Women’s Initiative. The luncheon was held on August 16, 2018, at River Roast restaurant in Chicago.

The Inspiration Award recognizes one extraordinary woman who has achieved professional excellence and inspires others in her industry and beyond.

In presenting the Award, Luncheon Co-Chair and Aronberg Goldgehn Member Julie A. Johnson noted that “there are certain people, who from the moment you meet them, grab your attention; and, from that moment forward, you cannot help but be inspired and engaged.”

Julie continued … “what really is special about Sarah Alter is not only her internal drive to advance herself to new professional success, but her passion for promoting opportunities for other women in business to do the same.”

Headquartered in Chicago, NEW’s mission is to advance women, grow business and transform the workplace through the power of community. NEW provides leadership development for 10,000-plus individual members and develops talent strategies for its 750 corporate partners. In an inspiring acceptance speech, Alter relayed her own stories about being treated differently in the workplace than her male colleagues and her path to what she calls her “dream job” at NEW. She currently leads an Executive Board and a team of nationwide ambassadors made up of representatives from nearly every major company and industry that shapes the country’s current economy.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Alter has served on a number of non-profit boards, including the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory, JDRF International, Chicago Women’s Impact 100 and the Beyond Sports Foundation.
