Nearly 120 of Chicago’s prominent women executives and professionals turned out to honor Ulta Beauty General Counsel and Secretary Jodi Caro at the 2016 Inspiration Award Luncheon hosted recently by the Aronberg Goldgehn Women’s Initiative. The inaugural award luncheon was held on July 14, 2016, at River Roast restaurant in Chicago.

In presenting the Award to Caro, the Luncheon Co-Chair noted the dramatic growth and success of the Bolingbrook-based Ulta, who saw its stock price soar nearly 40 percent last year and more than doubled the number of its locations across the country in only five years—to nearly 900 locations.

“A dynamic growing company like Ulta needs a dynamic General Counsel at the helm, and Jodi more than fits the bill—she is energetic, enthusiastic and so widely respected by her peers,” she said.

The Inspiration Award recognizes and honors extraordinary women who have achieved professional excellence and who are inspirational leaders in their industry because of their ambition, tenacity and resolve.

“We are thrilled to have brought together so many women across different generations and diverse industries for this inaugural event,” added Luncheon Co-Chair Elizabeth Lazzara. “It really is a tribute to Jodi’s success and achievements. The luncheon attendees were so impressed with her genuineness, as well as her passion for empowering other women, which came through in her acceptance speech.”

Caro joined Ulta Beauty in August 2015. Prior to that, her distinguished career included serving as the Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Integrys Energy Group, in addition to holding the role of Integrys’ Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer.

Outside of work, Caro is committed to community service. She is a member, past president and supporter of the not-for-profit PKU Organization of Illinois. She is on the board of directors for Communities in Schools of Chicago, a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting services to Chicago Public Schools in need. She has also served as the executive sponsor for a tutoring and mentoring program in partnership with Chicago Youth Programs.
