Aronberg Goldgehn mourns the passing of William A. “Bill” Price. Bill joined the firm as Of Counsel in June of 2023 after a 45-year legal career. In 1985, Bill established Growth Law, a law firm which concentrated in representing privately held companies, helping them buy, sell, finance and conduct their business affairs.

Bill will be missed by many in the corporate law community where he was regarded as one of Illinois’ leading lawyers. He served multiple terms as Chair of the Business Institute, the organization of Illinois corporate lawyers that has drafted all major business entity legislation in Illinois, beginning with the Business Corporation Act of 1983.

Bill was actively involved in the leadership of multiple sections of the Illinois State Bar Association, having been a chair, newsletter editor, and council member, for which he was awarded the "Tradition of Excellence" award by the Section of General Practice in 2012. For his dedication to the continuing legal education of practicing attorneys, he was honored with a “Distinguished Service Award” from ISBA in 2023. A prolific writer, over the years he authored hundreds of articles on various business law topics.

His sense of humor brought light into every room, and his love for the law was paralleled only by his passion for teaching and mentoring,” remarked Aronberg Goldgehn colleague and business law partner, David Johnson. “He had the most amazing stories that left us all a bit wiser and often with a smile.”

Bill graduated from Duke University with a J.D. and MA in Public Policy Sciences. He earned his undergraduate degree magna cum laude from the University of Illinois and was an active member of its suburban alumni club. For 15 years, Bill taught at the Stuart School of Business, Illinois Institute of Technology.
