Aronberg Goldgehn is proud to celebrate Member John C. Sciaccotta for receiving the 2025 Excellence Award from the Italian American Chamber of Commerce. Presented at the Chamber’s annual gala, the award recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves through exceptional professional achievement and community leadership.

In addition to his robust legal practice, Sciaccotta recently completed his term as President of The Chicago Bar Association (CBA) (2024–25). During his presidency, he championed initiatives focused on domestic violence awareness — including the creation of domestic violence and military and legal history committees — mentorship of young attorneys, judicial security, gun violence and rule of law initiatives, and the conceptualization and roll out of the Chicago Museum of Law, which was recently approved by the CBA Board of Directors and it has received its IRS 501(c)3 charity designation.

Sciaccotta’s recognition also pays tribute to his deep Italian American roots. His family owned and operated the beloved Papa Milano and Milano restaurants in Chicago from 1929 to 2007, leaving a lasting mark on the city’s cultural and business landscape.

“This recognition is deeply meaningful because it not only reflects my professional journey, but also honors my family’s legacy in Chicago’s Italian American community,” Sciaccotta said. “I’m truly humbled to receive this award.”
