Aronberg Goldgehn’s offices will be closed on Wednesday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
The firm joins companies, communities, the federal government and state and local municipalities nationwide in observing the holiday, which commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union Major General Gordon Granger read federal orders stating that all enslaved people in Texas were free. The holiday celebrates the emancipation of the last remaining enslaved African Americans in the Confederacy.
In a message to employees designating Juneteenth as a firm paid holiday, firm leadership encouraged all to spend the Juneteenth holiday celebrating the freedom of all Americans, volunteering for social justice causes, participating in peaceful activism or learning about race and race relations in the United States.
