Tom Hanekamp Speaks to Chicago Bar Association Insurance Law Committee on Underwriting Topics

Aronberg Goldgehn Member Tom Hanekamp addressed “Use of Credit Scores in Underwriting” and “Race and Underwriting” during a May 5, 2021 webinar presentation to the CBA’s Insurance Law Committee.

Tom spoke about recent legislative and industry proposals affecting the use of credit scores in insurance underwriting and rate setting.

Tom also presented on recent industry efforts to examine and determine which practices or barriers exist in the insurance sector that potentially disadvantage people of color and/or historically underrepresented groups.

Tom is the co-chair of Aronberg Goldgehn’s Insurance Coverage Practice Group and focuses his practice on the representation of insurers in coverage matters involving general liability, management liability and professional liability.
