
Staci Balbirer concentrates her practice in the area of divorce and family law that encompasses issues related to complex financial matters, the allocation of parental responsibilities, child support, maintenance, property division, pre-and post-nuptial agreements, orders of protection and international custody disputes.
Over the course of her practice, Staci has realized the need for assisting families with special needs children and handles matters for families with special needs children and adults in both the domestic relations and guardianship divisions.

Successfully argued that a mother’s visitation with her infant child should be supervised based upon mother’s conduct with child.

“Capped” husband’s obligation to pay maintenance to wife despite husband earning a substantial income.

Barred wife from producing any evidence to support her claim of past due college contribution from husband and successfully modified husband’s college contribution based upon a substantial change in circumstances.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Staci joined Aronberg Goldgehn as an associate in November 2014 and was promoted to Member in January 2019.
Since 2023, Staci has been named to The Best Lawyers in America list by Best Lawyers for her commitment to advancing family law. Since 2019, she has been named an Emerging Lawyer in Family Law by Illinois Leading Lawyers, a designation awarded to less than 2 percent of Illinois attorneys 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 or fewer years. Since 2016, she has been named a Rising Star in Family Law by Illinois Super Lawyers, a designation awarded to no more than 2.5 percent of Illinois attorneys 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less.
Staci was recently named to the ISBA's Family Law Section Council and is also a member of the ISBA’s Standing Committee on Women and the Law, which focuses on areas of law uniquely affecting women and provides a forum to discuss and implement women’s unmet legal needs and issues. In 2022, she was inducted into the American Academy for Matrimonal Lawyers, an organization that highlights leaders in the matrimonal law industry and promotes excellence and professionalism.
Among her achievements while a student at The John Marshall Law School, she was an invited member of the Morrissey Scholars - a group of individuals excelling in their professional responsibility courses.
