Maryam Arfeen Accepted Into the Illinois State Bar Association's Inaugural Leadership Academy

Aronberg Goldgehn attorney Maryam Arfeen has been accepted into the Illinois State Bar Association’s inaugural Leadership Academy. Maryam is one of 20 attorneys statewide accepted into the inaugural group.
The Academy’s mission is to enhance the professional careers of young, diverse members of the Illinois Bar. The program aims to serve the next generation of legal professionals by providing training to become effective leaders in the community.
To achieve diversity, the inaugural Academy members come from large, small and solo practitioner firms; private and public sectors; different practice areas and different areas of the state.
Upon graduating, each member of the Academy will be appointed to a section council or committee of their choice.
The 2020 Academy will meet six times beginning in December 2019 and concluding in June 2020.
Maryam represents an expansive range of clients in litigation in both state and federal courts. She has represented professionals, companies and their insurers in commercial litigation, employment litigation, medical malpractice and personal injury litigation. She also has experience with civil rights, whistleblower and contract disputes.
Maryam participates in all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, preparing discovery, conducting and defending depositions, and preparing motions and briefs. In addition to appearing in court, she has represented clients at arbitrations and mediations.
She is a Member of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Standing Committee for Racial and Ethnic Minorities in the Law.
