ISBA Appoints Vanessa E. Seiler to Commercial Banking, Collections & Bankruptcy Law Section for 2022-2023
The Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) recently selected Vanessa E. Seiler to serve as a member of the Commercial Banking, Collections and Bankruptcy Law Section for the 2022-2023 term.
Vanessa’s selection stems from an extensive history representing banks, lenders, real estate, investors and local municipalities in the areas of mortgage foreclosure, collections and real estate law. As an appointed committee member, Vanessa will draw from her experience to:
- Attend and lead educational programs
- Contribute articles for the ISBA newsletter
- Participate in other subcommittees
- Assist with the CLE programs produced by the section
Vanessa concentrates her practice in the areas of banking and finance, business litigation, loan workouts, commercial and residential foreclosures and real estate law. She is highly experienced in serving as creditor's attorney in commercial and residential mortgage foreclosures, and has successfully assisted banks, lenders and local municipalities resolve default issues. She helped pioneer the representation of third party bidders at foreclosure sales and expertly assists real estate investors in Cook and collar counties.
The ISBA Commercial Banking, Collections and Bankruptcy Law Section aims to promote excellence in the areas of commercial and banking law, providing various legal education presentations and practical information of proposed new and existing legislation. The ISBA currently serves more than 27,000 members, providing professional services to both attorneys and the public to increase awareness of their rights and responsibilities under the law.
