As part of the Ohio State Bar Association’s 2022 Corporate Counsel Institute, Alan S. Wernick shared mergers and acquisitions due diligence best practices concerning information technology, privacy, cybersecurity and intellectual property in a presentation on Friday, November 4. The CLE credited event was offered as a webinar and in-person at the Ohio State Bar Association headquarters.

In the session “Technology, Privacy/Cybersecurity and IP Due Diligence in Mergers and Acquisitions,” Alan led in-house counsel and corporate law attorneys through the benefits of a seller’s proactive approach to due diligence including:

  • An increase in business valuation
  • Overall time saved in transaction

He also explained the ways buyers can use due diligence to their advantage by understanding the risks associated with the target acquisition.
