Judith S. Sherwin Discusses Loretto Hospital Investigation with Better Government Association

Judith S. Sherwin recently discussed the investigation of a local hospital for their potential misconduct in a Better Government Association (BGA) article.

The article, “Loretto Hospital Under Investigation for ‘Potential Misuse of Charitable Assets,’” revealed that Loretto Hospital is undergoing a review of their practices and records for alleged misuse of charitable contributions.


As a health care attorney with more than 40 years of experience representing health care institutions and nonprofit organizations, Judith shared that the investigation into Loretto’s expenses is an unfortunate setback.

“The situation with Loretto is such a shame. It’s a small hospital in an underserved community taking care of poor people,” Judith said. “It’s not an institution you want to see having problems like this, having to respond to an investigation of potential misconduct by the people in charge.”
