Appellate Litigation
Aronberg Goldgehn has a proven record of success representing new and existing clients on appeal following a trial court ruling, whether protecting a successful trial court result or obtaining the reversal of an adverse judgment. Aronberg Goldgehn appellate litigators have successfully prosecuted and defended appeals in both State and Federal appellate courts, as well as the United States Supreme Court. The appellate litigation team is well-versed in the nuisance rules of appellate procedure, and can guide a litigant from the filing of a Notice of Appeal through an appellate opinion and, if necessary, the process and defenses against a Petition for Rehearing and/or Petition for Certification to Appeal to the Illinois or United States Supreme Courts.
The Aronberg Goldgehn appellate team understands that an appellate argument is only as good as the written brief, and is committed to the diligence and attention to detail needed for a persuasive argument. Aronberg Goldgehn uses a team approach and utilizes its resources and years of experience to make sure no stone is left unturned before a brief is filed. Oral argument is often the last step in the appellate process, and the lead litigator will participate in mock panels to be prepared to answer any questions that the judges may have in order to present the argument in the best light possible.
Aronberg Goldgehn represents individuals as well as small and medium-sized business owners on appeal, and will serve as appellate counsel whether Aronberg Goldgehn was counsel of record at the trial level or is being newly retained to prosecute or defend an appeal.
