Aronberg Goldgehn Strengthens Its Intellectual Property Practice With the Addition of Bill Niro, Chris Niro and Kristy Diesner

Aronberg Goldgehn has added a premier Intellectual Property team to the firm with the addition of William L. Niro, Christopher W. Niro and Kristina D. Diesner, expanding the firm’s capabilities to assist clients in their patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secret matters. Bill and Chris join as Members of the firm and Kristina as an Associate.

About the Team

William L. Niro (Member) has 40 years’ experience representing Fortune 500 companies, mid-size and family owned businesses, start-up enterprises and individuals in business transactions and intellectual property matters, including in securing patents, trademarks and copyrights. He has successfully resolved disputes on behalf of U.S. and international clients through mediation, trial and settlement. He has tried cases throughout the United States in state and federal courts, and has argued cases before state and federal appellate courts. Bill advises clients in brand development and has secured trademark registrations and licenses to protect more than 500 brands in the United States and in 50 countries throughout the world. He has helped clients secure and license patents for food processing methods, children's toys, metal processing systems and products in a wide spectrum of technologies. He has advocated and litigated patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, non-competition, unfair business practices and a wide range of commercial matters.

Christopher W. Niro (Member) focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, prosecution and other business affairs, including brand management and portfolio development. He represents individuals and entrepreneurs, as well as mid-size companies and multinational organizations. Chris advises his clients with regard to patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. In addition, he has extensive experience with all aspects of intellectual property litigation in both state and federal trial and appellate courts. From 2016-2019, Chris has annually been named a Rising Star in Intellectual Property Law by Illinois Super Lawyers.

Kristina D. Diesner (Associate) counsels individuals and companies in the protection and enforcement of their trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. She also advises clients on trademark registrations. Kristy is regularly engaged in drafting trademark office action responses, complaints, cease and desist letters, motions for entry of default, motions for entry of default judgment and motions for summary judgment in lieu of complaint. She also files trademark applications, monitors numerous trademarks and performs trademark clearance searches for clients in order to recommend the strongest marks.
