Aronberg Goldgehn Further Expands Its Insurance Coverage Practice With the Addition of Dan Berkowitz
Daniel J. Berkowitz has joined Aronberg Goldgehn Davis & Garmisa as an associate in the firm’s insurance coverage practice group.
He practices in the areas of complex litigation, insurance coverage and property subrogation matters. He represents clients in all phases of litigation, including pre-suit, pleadings, motion practice, discovery and mediation. While in law school, Daniel worked as a judicial intern for Hon. Patrick M. Meter of the Michigan Court of Appeals and as an intern with the Ottawa and Ingham County (Michigan) Prosecutor’s Offices. In those positions, he gained valuable experience in appellate research and writing as well as trial skills, including conducting three jury trials from jury selection to final verdict. Daniel earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law in 2014 and B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude, from Boston College in 2011.
“While Daniel has only recently joined our firm, he has already demonstrated exceptional legal skills and a dedication to providing our clients the highest quality service,” said Christopher J. Bannon, Co-Managing Member of the firm as well as Chair of the Insurance Coverage Practice Group. “He reflects our culture and we are very glad to have him on our team.”
Daniel joins Aronberg Goldgehn’s well-established and expanding insurance coverage practice. In August, veteran insurance litigators Thomas K. Hanekamp and Catherine Connelly Warren joined the firm as members, adding a wealth of experience and knowledge to the group. When Tom and Cathy came on board, Chris said: “We are excited to be combining our respective practices and look forward to providing even greater depth and breadth of services to our current roster of clients.”
Tom and Cathy focus their practices on major litigation on a nationwide basis, primarily on behalf of insurers in coverage matters. Tom primarily handles management and professional liability matters and also coverage matters involving environmental, asbestos and other long tail exposures. Cathy litigates coverage issues with a focus in the areas of public entity liability coverage, environmental coverage, CGL coverage and bad faith.
