Aronberg Goldgehn member Robert N. Sodikoff has authored Chapter 10, “Letters of Credit,” in the “Secured Transactions 2016 Edition” published by the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE). The publication is considered the essential guide covering security interests and priority under UCC Article 9.

The publisher, IICLE, claims the practice guidance in the handbook will assist attorneys in locking in their client’s security interests and priority under UCC Article 9. Readers will become current on the law and issues affecting the practice area with discussions of the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in Hawkins v. Community Bank of Raymore and how marijuana is to be categorized under the UCC.

Also included in the handbook is an in-depth analysis of full coverage of secured interests in bankruptcy proceedings, secured creditors’ rights and remedies if the debtor defaults, equipment leasing, letters of credit, guaranties, subordination and intercreditor agreements, special types of collateral and agricultural financing.

The handbook also includes more than 20 vital forms and essential sample language, including a guaranty, a standby letter of credit, a subordination agreement, an intercreditor agreement and an agricultural security agreement.
